los cristianos tenerifeLos Cristianos is the first choice of many holiday-makers who come to Tenerife, and this is not surprising because the resort has just about everything most tourists are looking for. Being in the extreme south of the island, Los Cristianos has plenty of subtropical sunshine and the sort of excellent weather people want when they are on their holidays.

Los Cristianos has the beaches, the bars, the restaurants and a very impressive shopping centre, as well as a very large range of local businesses to cater for your needs. Los Cristianos has hotels but many tourists like to book self-catering holidays which they can enjoy in Tenerife apartments that are available on short and long-term rentals.

Apartments are generally in apartment blocks and community complexes and these places usually have their own swimming pools for the use of residents. They are situated conveniently near to shops and bar restaurants too so it is not surprising that holiday apartments have become a very popular form of Tenerife accommodation.

It is easy to get to the beach in Los Cristianos and the resort has two main beaches, both of which have long expanses of golden sand which are ideal for sunbathing and other activities. Playa de los Cristianos is near to the resort’s harbour, whilst Playa de las Vistas is further along the coastline and has been awarded the Blue Flag of excellence.

The harbour is a focal point of Los Cristianos and regular ferries run from there to the neighbouring Canary Island of Gomera and back.

Los Cristianos is within easy reach of the Reina Sofia Tenerife South Airport making it very handy for visitors to Tenerife. The resort also has an excellent bus service that connects with many places on the island both north and south.

Los Cristianos started life as a fishing village but back in the 1960’s it swiftly developed into a seaside resort town and has continued to grow ever since.
